  • Take KMB No. 91 from Diamond Hill MTR Station heading to Clearwater Bay, alight at Tai Au Mun and walk along Clearwater Bay Road for 1.4 km to Tai Hang Tun.
  • Return by walking along Lung Ha Wan Road for 2.3 km to Tai Au Mun, then take KMB No. 91 back to Diamond Hill MTR Station.
Date: 3 Apr 2021

The beginning of the trail starts at the car park, and the first section is essentially all uphill stone steps, which is quite tiring with steep ascend. And most of the whole trail is not shaded so one must pay attention to sun protection.

Looking back towards Clearwater Bay and Po Toi O gives a nice view of the area, and provides a sense of energy to push you on further uphill. The trail has distance posts along the way, ranging from C3201 to C3204.

After a while you will reach the peak of Tai Leng Tung, in which there is a viewing point giving you a panoramic 360 degree look at the whole area, with HKUST and Sheung Sze Wan on one side, Sharp Island and Kau Sai Chau in Sai Kung, and the Green Egg Island on the other front.

The trail then begins the descend, which is frankly quite challenging for beginners, especially those afraid of heights. Paying attention and carefully walking down, this section has various large rock and one I found looks like the shark raising its head displaying the jaws. Interesting indeed.

In the last section of the downhill steps the path is very narrow, so one must be courteous with people coming up and down, trying to let the ones descending go first to avoid accident. The trail finishes at the Clearwater Bay Equestrian Centre.

To get to public transport, one must continue along Lung Ha Wan Road back to Tai Au Mun. There are a few nice stone beaches with crystal clear water, and one other thing worth seeing is the Lung Ha Wan Rock Carving at the cliff, with already 3000 years in history.
