This section of Lantau Trail starts at the end of Wang Pui Road, where there is a public toilet. The distance post ranges from L087 to L099, and overall it is relatively easy, with good shades, and a nice trail suitable for all age groups.

After turning into Keung Shan Road, you will walk along the dam of Shek Pik Reservoir, with one side being the reservoir and you can see Lantau Peak in the distance, and on the other side it is the Shek Pik Prison.

Turning into Shek Pik Reservoir Road, you will continue along the road downhill, with good shades and soon able to see Tong Wan. There is a beach and further out is the Shek Pik Prison. A really nice place and make you wonder how wonderful it is to live here... as a prisoner?

Then the trail continues along a stone path, adjacent to a fenced property. Quiet and with nice shades along the way, this section starts to ascend, but it is not tiring and in fact enjoyable with the stone steps easy to climb even for children.

Soon the trail flattens and you will walk around the hillside, with the ocean view on one side giving a heartening view. In no time you will reach the Shek Lam Chau Camp Site, a secluded and nice spot with great privacy as it was not well-known.

Continuing on this section is more exposed and so during summer one must be careful for sun protection. Reaching Lo Kei Wan, you will see the crystal clear water down below and there is also a nice beach which made you want to jump down and get a good swim.

Descending to the beach, we see a number of people who set up their camps to enjoy their time. The beach has a nice sandy front and I heard that it is a good spot for looking at the starlight at night. Maybe these people is setting up for that?

Then it is the most 'tiring' part of the whole trail, with the ascend uphill. The stone steps however is of good spacing and should not be a problem for anyone. And then you will reach the road again, and continue along that to South Lantau Road.

Reaching the junction and turning right, you will see Shui Hau Village and there are also there are some stores to replenish supplies, as well as cafe to take a short rest. Further along the road you will reach the end of Section 9, with Section 10 continuing on a flight of stone steps going uphill.
