Date: 22 Dec 2021

This section of Wilson Trail is generally quite easy to walk, with the distance post from W070 to W088. Right beside the main dam, the trail starts first with an easy and comfortable dirt trail surrounding the reservoir.

Along the way there are good glimpses of the reservoir.

There are also a few clear streams.

The trail is mostly flat, so in about 3 km there is a leisure deck going uphill, where you can take a good look at the reservoir and nearby areas.

You can also see the famous paper-bark trees with the reflection on the calm water.

Soon there are stone steps leading up, and climbing them will bring you to Shing Mun Forest Track. Shortly there is a branch and follow the concrete road leading to Lead Mine Pass.

This section is relatively boring, walking on concrete road uphill. A few pavilions on the way serves as a good spot to take rest.

There are a few branches on this road, first take the one on the right leading to Tai Po, and continue along the Shing Mun Forest Track Lead Mine Pass Section.

In the next branch take the left one to continue going uphill, which soon will lead to another pavilion.

Finally reaching the last branch, with the left going to the fire fighting water tanks. Take the right instead to continue towards Tai Po will bring you to Lead Mine Pass.

This is an intersection with different trails merging. Leaving the concrete road, take the trail behind the public toilets to start the descend.

This is an ancient trail with irregular stone steps. Generally it is not too difficult, just to be mindful if the stones are wet it could be a bit slippery, and some steps are quite high.

Noticing the overhead electric wiring, you will know that you are near the destination. Quickly you will start to see the buildings in the distance.

The final descend is on well-maintained concrete steps. Finishing it will bring you to Wun Yiu Road.

Continue on the road soon you will reach Yuen Tun Ha, the end of this section.
