Pattaya vacation - Sep 2016 (part 3)

On the third day we decided to go simple and just stay in the resort. After breakfast we went for a swim, and like the day before the pool was again all for ourselves with only two other people, so there were plenty of space around for me to teach Ivy to improve on her breaststroke.

With the nice Thai food we cooked yesterday, for lunch we went to the same restaurant, Elements. I ordered the Coconut Soup with Chicken, plus the Basil and Minced Chicken, while Ivy opted for the Grilled Yellowfin Tuna and Steamed Sea Bass Thai Style. The soup was very good, with the chili giving good spiciness. I finished it in no time and that was a sign of how tasty it was.

The Basil and Minced Chicken rice was good, though I preferred the stir-fried chicken to be with less sauce. Overall the lunch was still very good and in particular the service was excellent. The friendly staff also reminded us that the BBQ seafood buffet was available on the night and suggested us to book as there would be more people checking in for the weekend.

After lunch we went to the spa in the hotel, Amburaya Spa. There was a promotional package, which included one hour of massage and one hour of facial, with the price was a bit on the high end but we still went for it. Frankly the room was decorated nicely but not up to the high expectation I would have, and the overall spa experience was one of satisfactory but not over the top.

Enjoying the beautiful sunset view, we then had the BBQ seafood buffet at Elements. I ordered a bottle of Penfolds Riesling to pair, and there were plenty of grilled seafood, including rock lobster, river prawns and blue crabs, as well as other delicacies. We had a hearty meal and enjoyed the breeze, with us sitting outdoors but not feeling hot at all.

With that it concluded our vacation in Pattaya, with the next day we checking out in late morning to go direct to Bangkok airport to return home. It was a nice trip with overall we were very satisfied with the resort and in particular the culinary class. If you want a relaxing time, doing nothing and having some free moment to reflect and think, I would recommend this resort in this time of year.
