After visiting Asamushi Aquarium we drove for about 30 minutes to try out the famous Aomori ramen for lunch. Using GPS to guide the car, upon arrival I found the restaurant was nowhere nearby, and while puzzling how to go there, it started to rain. Seeing this small noodle place nearby, we decided to try our luck there. And it turned out we had discovered a true gem.

The restaurant is not big, with the noodle bar and fortunately we got our seats without much waiting. Having no clue what is the specialty, we looked around and saw everyone ordering the same soba, eaten after being dipped in a separate bowl of broth with ingredients, called tsukesoba.

I ordered the one shown on the photo, with two eggs, char siu, and extra portion of soba (1,000 yen) while my wife had the normal portion. The soba was really great on texture, with enough chewiness and bite, while the dipping sauce was amazing in taste.

There were minced pork, lots of chives, and the broth was thick but not too salty. After dipping the soba in, the sauce effectively coated the soba, and providing a truly great complement. Both the egg and char siu also were marinated well with lots of flavors.

The overall bill was 1,900 yen for both noodle, a real bargain with such great taste. Honestly this is one of the best soba I had ever tasted so far in my journey in Japan.
