Wineshark Japan Trip - Kagawa 2023 (Day 7)


Waking up to a beautiful day, I enjoy a nice sunbath at the terrace looking out at the Kobe cruise terminal while reflecting on this trip to Kagawa. Before long though, the doorbell rings and the staff bring the breakfast to our room.



Breakfast is provided on room service, with the staff pushing a movable table inside the room to setup. I have ordered the Continental Breakfast while my wife has Japanese style. The one thing I like a lot is the bread and pastry. Freshly baked and all very good. I congratulate myself for picking this choice of breakfast.


After checking out we drive for a short distance to Umie, a large shopping mall complex at Kobe Harborland, comprising of three buildings (North and South Hall, and Mosaic). It is also the 10th anniversary of the mall, with a colourful and interesting mural at the entrance welcoming visitors.



The buildings are inter-connected and covered, with air-conditioning for majority of the area so shoppers are not affected by weather. I am not a big shopper so after walking for a while, decide to head to Mosaic to visit the Snoopy Shop there.


If you are Snoopy fans, this shop will be like heaven, with many beautiful merchandises. My wife goes crazy and spend sometime going through all the goods, ended up purchasing quite a number of items. With the depreciated yen it is certainly a good deal compared with buying these online in Hong Kong.


Almost at lunch time, we pick a restaurant in Mosaic called 中納言, which specializes in live lobster cuisine. It has now got five branches, four in Kansai and the other one in Tokyo.


We order the 翡翠 set menu at 8,778 yen each, and starting with 食前酒. Soon the signature dish, the live lobster sashimi 伊勢海老の活造り is served. The tail and legs of the lobster is still moving while we enjoy the sweet taste of the flesh.


Then comes the salad 彩り新鮮野菜サラダ.


The third course is lobster tempura 伊勢海老の天婦羅.


The chef has used the lobster head to prepare 伊勢海老のお吸い物. Very intense and tasty soup.


To cleanse our palate, お口直しの氷菓 is provided.


The grilled lobster 伊勢海老焼物 is also delicious, with herbs and thick cream sauce.


Coming towards the end is 伊勢海老の海苔茶漬け、香の物.


The dessert is a homemade cake デザート.


And there is also coffee 食後の香り(コーヒー). With a full stomach we drive to Kansai International Airport and return the car to Toyota Rent-A-Car before taking CX507 to go back to Hong Kong, completing this wonderful trip to Kagawa.
