Wineshark Cooking Class - Pan-fried Chicken Steak with Green Chili and Mashed Turnip 雞肉西京燒配青辣椒白蘿蔔泥


Ingredients (for 4):

  • Chicken steak - 2 pieces (300 g)
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Miso - 2 tbsp
  • Sake - 2 tsp
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Green chili - 1 
  • Turnip - 1/2
  • Salt - 1 pinch
Procedures:

1. Trim the excess fat and skin off the chicken steak.


2. Mix miso with sake and sugar to form a marinade.


3. Marinate the chicken steak with the marinade and then put in fridge for half a day.


4. Finely chop the green chili into small slices.


5. Mash the turnip and squeeze off the excess juice.


6. Mix the green chili with mashed turnip. Season with salt.


7. Heat up a pan with a tbsp of oil, then pan-fry the chicken steak, skin down, until the skin is crispy.


8. Flip the chicken steak over and over with lid to continue to cook until the chicken is well-done.


9. Serve by cutting the chicken steak into thick slices, and then put the mashed turnip on the side.
