Wineshark HK Restaurant Review - Ted's Lookout

Located in Moon Street, an interesting neighborhood at one end of Wanchai district, Ted's Lookout is a nice bar with good music and atmosphere for one to relax after work. No wonder when we arrived it was already crowded, especially the outdoor area where people could enjoy some fresh air.

Not meant for a sit-down restaurant, the table we got is very tiny and the sitting space would not be able to accommodate a person with a bigger belly. But since this is a bar I could not complain too much on that aspect. I ordered Catch Me Kate, a cocktail which tasted fresh and good for starting the dinner.

We had Taco Platter and Buffalo Wing Lollipops as starters. The platter is really good with four different tacos, including Mexican Chorizo, Beef Carnitas, Signature Fish and Grilled Tiger Prawns. The fish was not oily at all and delicious, though the tiger prawn was a bit overdone and dried. For the buffalo wings, they were prepared to resemble lollipops and served perfectly as a finger food, with the right spiciness, crispy skin and tender meat.

Then Ivy had a Hamburger and me the Louisiana Fried Catfish Bites. Even though I did not eat the hamburger, it looked so tasty that I thought of ordering a chicken burger also. The fish bites were fried perfectly and not oily at all, with the fish soft, the batter of appropriate thickness and crispiness, though it was a bit too salty for me.

The service overall was reasonably well, and the Czech beer they recommended was also a great choice to pair with the food we ordered. However, the price was a bit too high with the bill at $904 for two.

My overall rating is 45/100.
