After the relatively tiring section 5, this section offers a welcoming simple and easy trail for hikers, and in fact I would recommend taking the two sections together if you can. Otherwise you would need to walk for about 3 km from Quarry Bay up the Mount Parker Road to reach the starting point at Quarry Pass Pavilion.
This section covers the distance post from H060 to H068, with majority of the trail walking downhill. Most of the trail is also concrete road offering no challenge so one can do it in good pace. Soon reaching a branch we have to take the right one leading to Tai Tam Reservoir.
Walking across the Upper Dam it is a good spot to take some nice photos of the reservoir. Turning right afterwards, the trail continues and soon you can see the Tai Tam Byewash Reservoir. But this time we will not cross the dam but go straight.
Along the way you will see the historic control room, with the stone arch indicating that it was built in 1904. Because it is so easy walking downhill, one must pay attention to the branch walking up some steps towards Tai Tam Road, instead of continuing down to Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir.
This is the most 'difficult' part of the section, but only because there are more small ups and downs and the dirt trail is more uneven. There is a crystal clear stream which offers a nice spot to take a rest. In the summer would be a great spot to cool down, and very soon you will reach the end of the trail at Tai Tam Road.
